of GOLD "The Golden Retriever"
Story
This UK video is a complete biography of the Golden Retriever, from
its conception by Lord Tweedmouth in Scotland, up to today's field trial &
show Goldens.
From the Guisachan estate in Inverness, Scotland, Sir
Dudley Coutts Majoribanks, the 1st Lord Tweedmouth, developed a breed of dog
which was to play a major part in peoples lives throughout the world.
"Fields of Gold" gives a unique insight into
that breed, "The Golden Retriever". This
UK imported DVD can be played on NZ and multi-region DVD units. The
video covers the history,
field work, interviews with
top UK breeders,
health & breeding.
Valerie Foss tells of its fascinating
history. Goldens were born to retrieve.
It has long been thought that the Golden Retriever was
descended from a troop of Russian circus dogs. Val Foss explains the the
evidence to contradict this tale, Val also shows us the inventory which was kept
by Sir Dudley and now has pride of place in the Kennel club library in London

After a spectacular introduction
by F.T. CH.Tillwood Theseus of Holywear, this section looks at working Golden
Retriever gundogs. At a field trial in Esh, Co Durham, the Golden Retriever club
of Northumbria held a Goldens only field trial, this was an ideal chance to see
the Golden Retriever do what it was bred for.
Some superb displays of the agility, stamina, and
intelligence of the breed are exhibited.

as some people think to breed Goldens, or any dog for that matter.

scheme, how much progress in the condition has been made since its introduction,
